Hey, so if I were um, say, interested in crocheting --- I mean not like I am or anything since that'd be way too girly for a dude --- but, i mean, supposing I was, and I wanted to make a hackysack, are there like, any plans or something you could point me towards? --hypothetically of course

I saw this program on PBS/NOVA about Mandelbrot sets and thought of you. It's called "Fractals: Hunting the Hidden Dimension". It's from 2008, so maybe you've seen it already. Anyway, it's a cool show on math and it ties in with computers and biology, so I was super stoked.

Duuude right on! I made a Shrinky Dink Mandelbrot set necklace for a friend of mine because he was going to a Jonathan Coulton concert that weekend. It's really fascinating stuff-- I'll have to find the PBS special once I've got some spending money. Thanks for the tip!

Your little knit stuffies are just as cute and detailed as any crocheted ones I've seen. Great job on them!

Thanks! I'm ever so jealous of your dragon-- I haven't been brave enough to try it yet, but I'd eventually like to make one for a friend of mine. If I manage to work up the nerve to try, yours will be fabulous inspiration :)

He took awhile but it helped me overcome my fear of ripping things out if I don't like them. :)
If you haven't seen the painting he's inspired by you totally should. The artist has this whole book of dragons in the childrens section of the library but they are wonderful!

Woah! you knit your plushies? how long do they take?

[link] you know you wanna click it
:iconmeteorstorm:
Not too long, actually! That's why I like them-- you get a finished critter way faster than something like a scarf or hat. Depending on how complicated they are, usually between 5 and 8 hours each.
